About Me

Hey everyone!
I'm Gideon, 25 years old, from Israel. I was born in Baltimore and spent the last 18 years of my life living in Israel which is an amazing country and highly recommend to everyone here on CS.
I'm planning to study at a university here in Israel this upcoming October, and until then I'm going to take a few months to travel to South America, with a short visit back to the US.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not a huge fan of hotels, and I think CS is a great way to get to meet people and see the real culture and way of life of the locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies-
I have a very wide range of movies that I enjoy. Sometimes I want to see something with meaning and depth like the Matrix, Forrest Gump or Fight Club, sometimes I feel nostalgic and want to watch childhood movies (Disney, Pixar, The Mighty Ducks), and sometimes I just feel like watching a stupid comedy like Hot Fuzz or Rick and Morty (I know, that's a TV show and not a movie, but I can just never get sick of it)

Books-
A brief history of humankind
Discourses & The Prince
The time keeper
Most of Paulo Kuelo's books (I know, it can sometimes be very tacky, but it's still nice)
Ender's game
Plato and a platypus walk into a bar
Harry Potter (I mentioned in the movies part that I can get very nostalgic)
Lately I've been reading a lot of finance related books- Robert Kiyosaki, The E-Myth, Black Swan.

Music-
I like Israeli music- Idan Raichel, Michael Greilsammer, Alma Zohar
I also like American Rock and Pop, nothing specific.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Planning to backpack by myself through South America- can't wait!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm hoping to learn more about other people and their culture, customs and language.
When it comes to learning a new language, I'm not that great. I really hope to pick up Spanish on my trip.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friends tell me that I have a very wide general knowledge, a lot of times on things that "normal" people aren't supposed to know (said by them, not by me).

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, France, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, United States
