About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting fit enough to run Adelaide Greenbelt Half Marathon and Cork Marathon in 2012 and to really enjoy travelling on my first ever instalment of long service leave
ABOUT ME
52 year old Australian male with lovely Irish-born wife, and two adult children, one still at home. Forging a satisfying career in the WA State Government doing policy and project work. In recent years I have rekindled my passion for long distance running and even though I am very slow these days, I still love to compete and find that combining travel and races is a fantastic way to go. Ran an international marathon in Cork Ireland 2010 - Great experience. I live in Gidgegannup in the Perth Hills.
PHILOSOPHY
tread lightly upon the earth.
Do some good while you are on it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have really enjoyed the CS experience as both host and guest. Taking a break from hosting at the moment but recently a couchsurfer contacted me and asked if I would take her running through Perth. What a great way to see a city with a local host, a fun experience. So if you want a running tour of Perth please ask me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted by David and Lynda in Coleraine Northern Ireland. Very positive experience.
Hosted by Richard in Belfast and Anna in Banyoles, Spain.
We have enjoyed hosting some really nice visitors as well.

Finishing Cork Marathon 2010 after being attended to by ambulance officers when my blood-sugar levels dropped at the 22 mile mark. They fed me chocolate, sweets and sugary drinks and sent me on my way to the finish line.
