About Me

I am presently a student, but traveling intermittently during this time. I don't like to be stagnant; that goes for both my physical place and mental stance. I am a purveyor of good food, coffee, conversations, running, and learning. Every day I am excited by what I don't know.

I tend towards appreciating beauty and recognizing complexity. Time with others is cherished! I am studying anthropology and plan to go to medical school.

I am very into traveling cheap, which is why WWOOFing is one of my favorite things to do and has allowed me to see parts of the US I potentially would not have. CouchSurfing serves a similar purpose—in both cases I can meet people who at least care to travel and meet new people.

Now: It’s summer and that’s exciting. I am working as a research assistant at the Yale School of Public Health in New Haven, Connecticut. [I spent last Summer conducting fieldwork in the Peruvian Amazon, so if are into that we can have long coffee chats.] My summer plan is to see as much of New England as possible; I am a fan of cozy spots in busy places, so I am collecting all the little beach towns and cafés, in case you have any recommendations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I am a student of anthropology, I know that outside of the classroom (and my comfort zone) is where significant learning happens. As for getting out and seeing the world, the more people I meet and share time with, the better. That's why Couchsurfing is the best option for me.

A huge aspiration of mine is to have a home that is like a revolving door, but until I am at that point in life all I can do is appreciate what others are offering and make sure to reciprocate along the way.

Interests

Similar to a rogue lone electron, my identity is amorphous and highly dependent upon my surroundings: people + places are significant influencers. I am always looking to reframe things I am challenged or made uncomfortable by - I think that’s an important part of happy living. I love to run, hike, eat, drink and talk.
