About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To pay for my last trip away and plan the next........

ABOUT ME

I have travelled extensively both in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and America. I have visited China, Malaysia, Fiji, Canada, Thailand and Bali for holidays or business. I have driven trucks, coaches (buses), tractors, and earthmoving equipment at one time or another for a living. Most times I have been self employed and enjoy being independent. Travel has always excited me. At one time in my life my mantra was to do as many different occupations as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

To pack as much as I can into the rest of my life and to travel extensively once a year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After recently travelling America for over 2 months and staying with lots of Couchsurfers it is now time to give back and host some people at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have travelled extensively and have always tried to stay with someone who could show me around or at least point me in the right direction. Formally as a bona fide Couchsurfer I have stayed with a lot of members in the US recently.

Interests

My interests are varied but it would be fair to say I am more outdoor than art, more sport than opera. I love our motor racing in all forms, fishing, kayaking, ball sport, water sport, wine, food, walking, hiking, exploring and of course travel. At the moment I'm running a 2 Litre Ford Escort rally car in the SA rally championship and also helping a friend with a Hyundai Excel race car.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all music, in particular live performances. I read mainly biographies as I enjoy learning about people's lives. I've seen Paul McCartney and Wings in Venice, Alice Cooper in Adelaide and the Beach Boys in Surfers Paradise.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once had a business selling old wine barrels off the back of a truck all over Australia. The outback of Australia is one of the amazing places I have seen, particularly when the indigenous people set fire to the entire North of the country. I have driven for 3 days solid and not had one moment when there was no smoke.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like sharing my many stories with other people as I have done many different things throughout my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A visit to one of the most beautiful places to live in the world. Our region is home to many world class wineries and sits just kilometres from a magic coastline with vast beaches and reefs. Snow skiing and mountain climbing are probably the only 2 activities you can't do within an hour of my house.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, China, Fiji, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States
