About Me

活到老學到老
你要不要一起體驗新的經歷吧!

I'm a student of the world, travelling to share experience and make connections and memories.

I like to meet people who are different than I am because I want to have new perspectives. We fear things and ideas that are different because we aren't exposed to them, but through travelling and hosting I learned that we are all truly one big family. 世界大同。

I travel with passion for helping the local communities and sharing cultural experiences. If I like the place I am in, I find opportunities to volunteer.

Learning languages is another one of my passions. I learned Spanish and Portuguese on my trip and am currently learning Mandarin Chinese. I'm looking forwards to speaking many more!

I worked as a consulting engineer for an engineering firm. Inspired by stories of people travelling the world on a budget, I decided to test out my dream. I took a small amount of savings and quit my day job. If it didnt work out, worst case, I could always find another desk to sit at. Luckly it did work out.

Im glad Im living an active, loving, and meaningful life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel the world to learn from and share experiences with new friends.

Life is relationships and memories. That is what I seek to create with others.
I hope that through couch surfing I can find myself more than a place to sleep, or be more than a couch for someone to crash on; I can find myself a local (or traveler) that we can share our experiences together.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - The History of Tomorrow, The Little Prince, Flowers for Algernon, Catcher in the Rye, The Hobbit...many more. I love to read.
Movies - comedy and psychological thrillers and documentaries and so much more. Name it and if I havent seen it I will mark it down to see it. True story: As a kid, Mufasa's death shocked me, the tears stopped me from sleeping at night. It wasn't until my late teens that I was able to watch the Lion King again.
Music - Odesza and Rufus Do Sol have been making the top of my list now. Its mood dependent: Reggaeton to get pumped up, reggae to chill out, electro for both, and exploring new genres as I go. I listed to a lot of foreign music (Chinese, Taiwanese [愛拼才會贏anybody哈哈 ;)], Spanish, Brazillian, French...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped someone believe in herself, that she can learn a second language.
