About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Switching things up and seeing what's out there.

ABOUT ME

Born in El Paso, Texas and then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan when I was ten. I consider both places home for the most part. I graduated from Grand Valley State University, which most of you probably have never heard of, in 2008. For 5 years I've worked as a project manager and moved 7 times throughout the US during that time for different projects. I recently decided I needed a change and quit and started traveling.

PHILOSOPHY

The only way you are going to find out if you really like or don't like something is by trying it. You could be missing out on a new favorite something by not giving it a shot. That being said, I'm usually pretty open to trying new things. Treat others how you would like to be treated, mainly, don't be a dick. Everyone has a story, chat it up with them and learn from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being new to this, I'd hope to meet some good people through this, and maybe find some people to do some traveling with or others providing some sort of hospitality.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was living in Kansas City (2012), my roommate had our apartment as a place for people to stay and one guy took up the offer. We showed him around for a few days before he continued on his travels around the US.

Most recently, September 2014, I took part in a month long road trip through New Zealand with a friend, someone he met during his travels and two other people that we met through this site. The travels went surprisingly well for four to five strangers living in a campervan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd say quitting my job. It was tough and scary at first, and eventually became liberating. So many people think about doing it to be able to explore not only other places but themselves, I've been grateful for this opportunity. It's been great. One day I'll have to go back to work, but I'm living the dream right now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always willing to learn something new. I can teach a few things, mostly related to sports, some related to yoga. Share information about traveling in the United States, I've been fortunate to see a lot of the country and could make some recommendations.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share conversation. I can help them with things they have going on around there place. I can share what I've learned in my experiences in life. And music, I love hearing new music and sharing personal favorites.
