ABOUT ME

I love nature, hiking, and climbing whenever I get the chance to. But currently I am finishing my PhD. Thus, unfortunately I do not have the chance to get much around this year besides a vacation to Korsika.

PHILOSOPHY

Learning is important to me- to find new ways to personal growth, to more understanding, accepting, and learning from my mistakes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking forward to meeting with new people. As I have only a small flat, I would like to offer especially my time. But if a couch is needed, that is possible, too, of course.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have made couchsurfing experiences that were mostly privately organized through friends, friends of friends or relatives of friends etc. Especially in Turkey, where I lived for almost three years, I got around this way a lot. These experiences, but also my first two couch surfing experiences were always great, full of surprises, and friendships developed.

Interests

Anything to do with activities in the nature. Music (singing), reading. Actually, also my work combines so many of my interests that it sometimes seems more like a hobby when I am enjoying it too much:

Cultures, languages, and to analyze what effect it has on people, their attitudes, their communication- as my PhD is on intercultural interviews and the work with translators.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was overwhelmed when I went diving for the first time. It felt at the same time completely new and foreign, and yet safe and simply wonderful, because of the calmness beauty under sea and the ease with which my body moved.
