About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See what the world has to offer me. Find out what I have to offer the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a placid person, open minded, easy-going and patient. I love any sort of experience that makes me a more intelligent, worldly, creative or skilled person. I believe that the glass is always half-full, thus I am very easily pleased. I would describe myself as a genuinely happy person.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in learning through experience- the more you see, the more you do, the more people you meet, the more you learn, the better life becomes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just moved to the Philippines for a 9-month volunteer assignment. I plan to host once I get my own place set up in Calabanga in the Bicol region.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The experiences I've had have been so positive, I am constantly recommending CS to others.

Interests

Travelling (obviously). Languages. Live music. Lying on the grass. Playing classical guitar. Tea. Day trips away from the city. Spending time with my large extended family. Green, lush surroundings. Nature in general. Singing out loud. Optimism. Food, (almost) all sorts. The simple pleasures in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Seriously a bit of everything- James Brown, Paco de Lucia, Frank Sinatra, Radiohead, The Beatles, Billie Holliday, Mark Ronson, Elvis, The Shins, Sia, Amy Winehouse, Segovia.

High Society, Amélie, Calamity Jane, L'Auberge Espagnole, Singing in the Rain.

The atlas (I like geography), The Great Gatsby, Tuesdays with Morrie, Le Petit Prince, The Consolations of Philosophy or anything else by Alain de Botton

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing a giant sand dune in the Moroccan Sahara to watch the sunrise over the desert was pretty spectacular.

Also, hiking up an active volcano in Guatemala (and toasting bread on the lava) is possibly a once in a lifetime experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking (and eating) new foods, I like collecting recipes. Can we do a swap?
