About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Eat, knit, cook, and explore the world as much as possible.
ABOUT ME
I very rarely stay in one place. This can be a good thing, and sometimes a bad thing, but it's mainly just fun.
I like to knit (a lot), bike, wander around cities, drink good things (including coffee, tea, wine, beer, and whisky), and talk about/grow/make/eat good food. We'll probably get along if you enjoy any one of those things.
I travelled quite a lot when I was younger and I'd like to think it helped shape who I am today. I love exploring and learning about new places, cultures, and subcultures. I'd like to think I'm pretty open-minded. I studied Social Anthropology in Toronto, Copenhagen and Oslo, live in Berlin, and have been in Scotland for the past few months doing fun things researching and working with food. I'm a Canadian by heart.
PHILOSOPHY
Recently in my life, the greatest experiences I've had come from not getting too caught up in worrying about consequences. I've realized that when opportunities come, or if there's something I really want to do, to just do it, because regrets are rare.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had some amazing experiences surfing, but unfortunately I never stay in one place long enough to be able to host. When I'm settled down I'm hoping to be able to start showing people around whatever city I end up in. Mainly my participation for now consists of me thanking hosts by keeping them amused and occasionally buying them drinks or baking them things.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had some of my most memorable and favourite experiences travelling while couchsurfing. It has shown me how generous people can be and how willing people are to convince you to love their city, or town, or country as much as they do.
Some of my greatest experiences couchsurfing include off-roading in Iceland, and playing ultimate frisbee and then drinking way too much Polish vodka and dancing tango in Krakow.
Interests
Music, travelling (of course), anthropology, all things culture, art, knitting, history, folklore and hearing about interests and stories people are passionate about really.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music, book, and movie taste is all over the place. I've grown up in a musical family and there's nothing more I like to do than go out to see a live show (I probably do it way too often for my own good, too...)
As for books, I'm usually engulfed in in-depth ethnographies during the school year, and enjoy reading mainly fiction in my spare time, but my taste ranges. Last summer I tried to read a book by an author from each country I travelled to.
I'm always up for good music/movie/book trades.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Road tripping through Ottawa Valley, almost drowning while white water rafting, and cliff jumping straight afterwards.
Walking across glaciers in the Karakoram, witnessing avalanches and staying at the base camp of K2.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit, I can cook good things for you, I can have great conversations or teach you a few things in many languages.
