About Me

I'm Gilles,

In 2014, after that I had finished high school, I decided to take a GAP year to travel around the world. I didn't know what I wanted to do or to learn so for me it was not a big deal for a long time; travelling for one year looked to be a great option. I started with one Europe Trip with 5 friends and then I went to Costa Rica as volunteer during 5 mouths and then in United States to learn English in a school. I went too in several others countries during that year, every time for one week or more.

" I never been everywhere but it's on my list"

My next trip:
- Péru and Bolvia= June and July 2016

Actually, I came back in Belgium and I'm studying Political Science at university but I didn't forget my backpack and I will travel every summer as much and as far possible that I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if i really did crazy thing, maybe my GAP year is one. Leave your family, your friends for one complete year, even if you live, learn, so much things, it's something. I write that when I came back in june 2014 it's a good resume of the cool and crazy things that I have done:

After being 10 months in North & South America and having travelled trough Mexico, Canada, Porto Rico, Nicaragua, U.S.A, Bahamas, Panama and Costa Rica,
Having met great people from all around the world,
having seen such amazing places like Chichen Itza, Niagara Falls or Hollywood,
having turned down several wedding proposals,
having surfed on a volcan,
having learned so much about other lifestyles,
having saved baby turtles,
having climb alone the highest mountain of Central America,
having lived without shoes two weeks,
and having lived so many others crazy experiences.
It's time for me now to go back to my country (and to study). I will never forget all this moments, thank you everyone!
Next stop; BELGIUM!
Oh and after having tried over 50 different beers, I can tell you that Belgium is still #1!
