Hello! My name is Gillian and I am a recent biochemistry graduate from San Diego! I spent a lot of my university time studying and I realized what I really wanted was to become a global citizen, and use my privilege to help others! I have worked at 3 non-profits for music education, homeless rehabilitation and sex trafficking refugees! I work in a research lab with organometallic chemistry, and I have a cat that currently lives with my parents!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Oof! I like a lot, recently listening to classic punk rock, and R&B but I like studying to edm and jazz!

Movies:
I haven’t seen many recently! Old indie films and thrillers are my favorite though.

Books:
I LOVE reading. My favorite genres are sci-fi and historical fiction, specifically dystopian satires or short stories and mystery novels. Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors as well as John le Carre. Right now I am reading the Nickelback Boys, by Colton Whitehead.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled in Argentina and Thailand alone a few years ago, and while that may not seem very unique, it made me realize the good in people everywhere you go.

A conversation about anything. I love to talk to people, and I love that everyone is a little weird and human. I can offer you a good book to read or a quip from a 2pac lyric!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I usually buy flowers once a week, and so I’ll bring those to your home if you like flowers! I always have books on hand ready to lend and I would love to share a meal and stories of our lives!
