About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm just a poor college student trying to see the world and experience as much culture as I possibly can!

ABOUT ME

I am part of the class of 2012 at the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania. I am studying Psychology and Philosophy as my undergrad, but I am not sure what career path those studies will take me down yet. I have passions for service, painting, and international affairs. I have been trying to come up with a way of combining all of these passions into one form of graduate studies but it is a lot harder than it seems! Currently I am studying in Florence, Italy. From here I am really trying to see as much of the world as I possible can.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy? That's tricky...
While my personal philosophy is still a work in progress, as it will probably always be, what I strive for, is peace. I search for an inner peace in making decisions about my future: will I be happy, will I do whats right? I also seek peace among people, I participate in service trips whenever possible, and grow in knowledge and understanding of another's culture and way of life. I believe that through education (not necessarily in a formal sense) the world will reach understanding for one another, and in turn peace.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am not the typical college student in that culture and experience are top priority for me. I wish to immerse myself in the culture of the places I travel. Experiencing a place if far more important than just seeing it. This is why CouchSurfing is so appealing to me. Sharing in culture and customs, which CS promotes, helps build understanding and peace throughout communities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am brand new to CouchSurfing! I was nervous at first, and it took some convincing from my friends but I finally signed up. I am excited because after hearing some CouchSurfing stories from my friends, the users sound extremely hospitable and fun to stay with.
