Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

What you want to call participation. Without wanting to brag, if i can help with what you need, i will do what i can. Now is the first time since i have heard about such thing - shoebox sized student bed/sit comma middle of nowhere dwelling for years before - that i am in a position to let people stay over. I am more than encouraging you to treat my hospitality for granted. I am on an upwind and want to share the good vibes. Excuse the lack of social skills, of riches and often consistence. Have it your way though. I like to cook / open wine bottles as well.

I also tell people who might do good for others and/or themselves by being here about it. So far, three of my close ones have found this a place to their liking, all the openness and eccentricity they pleased me with is now at your disposal. Or maybe they use it as another Facebook clone. From venues for musicians and drama people, through by now halfheartedly but well known nightlife, and regional hiking, swimming, roof climbing and (do train me on that) tourist-icky things, there can be something in it for you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As with all venues where particular humans congregate.. this is a thing with ups and downers. I stumbled across people losing me after five minutes´ small talk and well groomed middle-aged gentlemen astonishing me in the shower. It was not cool at all being homeless for weeks after dozens of requests at "sure" venues. Yeah, i did not always stick to the unspoken codex of cheerful, clean and punctual, all over involved "good tramp" behaviour. that is how the streets made me at times. Yeah, you get a copypaste request, because i begged these five online minutes from some kind fellow. No, sadly i got stuck on a country road in the back end of nowhere, but things are not that different a day later. Whole Groups not giving a BRAP about me, as much as people who spared no effort to know i am fine. But yeah, it is CouchSurf, not BumSave..

Throughout the concept of putting a most private habit - sleep - in the care of total strangers, there have been good, bad and ugly ones. That said, we are speaking of people who invited me to stay with them. Not exclusively CS-internal sleepover fun, also kind and caring peole closer to the spirit we yearn for here. Be it for a detour to the beach, fat kebab in their village, or the most inspiring week of my life, it was all there. Honestly and deeply wanting to give me a piece of mind, through stories, through things they made happen, through openness, tolerance and good spirit am i still alive inside and hungry for the unseen. It is only the beginning of my journey, and always will be. And this project has always been a great help for it.

Music, Movies, and Books

a heated kidney shaped pool,
a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,
a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
a king-size Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,
a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,
real simulated Indian jewelry,
a Gucci shoetree,
a year's supply of antibiotics,
a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth
and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,
a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,
Rosemary's baby,
a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,
a new Matador, a new mastodon,
a Maverick, a Mustang, a Montego,
a Merc Montclair, a Mark IV, a meteor,
a Mercedes, an MG, or a Malibu,
a Mort Moriarty, a Maserati, a Mac truck,
a Mazda, a new Monza, or a moped,
a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,
a Las Vegas wedding,
a Mexican divorce,
a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,
or a baby's arm holding an apple?

Teach, Learn, Share

Bits and pieces. Things that have moving parts or electricity in them like me to take them apart. I shoot pictures of arbitrary stuff like those on flickr.com/photos/cunca. Other abandoned web nestings include synaesthese.blogspot.co.uk and funktrash.deviantart.com/gallery/. You can have immature politics and sociothingy ramble with me. Climb on building sites and crawl across forests. I am an amateur hitch-hiking and rough-sleeping pro. And I know a few books and movies to suit your type. If you are up for an collabo in design matters, be our guest.
