ACTUAL MISION/CURRENT MISSION

Cumpliendo el sueño de conocer el mundo viajando, un medio para seguir buscándonos, conociéndonos y creciendo como personas.

Fulfilling the dream of getting to know the world by traveling, a way to continue our inner search, getting to know ourselves and growing as people.

SOBRE NOSOTROS/ABOUT US

Somos Gime (27 años) y Manu (34 años), pareja de uruguayos. Nos conocimos mientras trabajabamos como dependientes en una misma empresa, Gime como contadora y Manu como Ingeniero, pero luego de varios años de vivir así, nos dimos cuenta de que eso ya no nos llenaba, no queríamos seguir esa vida. Así, en diciembre 2021 tomamos la decisión de renunciar a nuestros trabajos de dependientes para irnos de viaje por el mundo. Estamos viajando con el objetivo de salir de nuestra zona de confort, ampliar nuestra mirada, desafiar nuestras creencias, conocer personas nuevas y otras formas de vivir; para así seguir en la búsqueda de quienes somos y la vida que queremos construir.

We are Gime (26 years old) and Manu (34 years old), a couple from Uruguay.We met while working as employees in the same company, Gime as an accountant and Manu as an engineer, but after several years of living like that, we realized that it was no longer fulfilling, we did not want to continue that life. So, in December 2021 we took the decision to quit our dependent jobs to go on a trip around the world. We are travelling with the aim of leaving our comfort zone, broaden our vision, challenge our beliefs, meet new people and other ways of living; in order to continue in the search of who we are and the life we want to build.

INTERESES/INTERESTS

Bueno, es un poco obvio decirlo, pero nos gusta viajar y conocer a gente de diferentes orígenes.
Nos encanta conocer y aprender de la cultura, historia y gastronomía de los lugares que visitamos, de la mano de los locales.
Disfrutamos mucho en la naturaleza, de caminar, hacer trekkings, practicar yoga, meditar y leer.

Well, it's a bit obvious to say, but we like to travel and meet people from different backgrounds.
We are interested in getting to know and learn about the culture, history and gastronomy of the places we visit, hand in hand with the locals.
We enjoy nature, walking, trekking, yoga, meditation and reading.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Creemos que lo valioso de la vida es poder vivir experiencias, por eso elegimos coachsurfing para poder compartir y aprender con otras personas y enriquecernos de sus culturas y sus vivencias.

Para nosotros los atractivos humanos son más importantes que los turísticos.

We believe that the most valuable thing in life is to be able to live experiences, that's why we chose coachsurfing to share and learn with other people and enrich ourselves with their cultures and experiences.

For us human attractions are more important than tourist attractions.

EXPERIENCIA EN COUCHSURFING/EXPERIENCE IN COUCHSURFING

Estamos teniendo nuestras primeras experiencias en couchsufring, la puerta de esta comunidad se abrió para nosotros al comenzar a planificar este viaje que comenzó en Marzo 2022 ya que antes no lo conocíamos. Entusiasmados de haber comenzado a ser parte.

We are having our first experiences in couchsufring, the door of this community opened for us when we started to plan this journey, that started in March 2022, since we did not know it before. Excited to have started to be part of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Renunciar a nuestros trabajos y sacar un ticket aereo solo de ida, para comenzar a vivir la vida que queremos, ha sido el mayor desafio.

Quit our jobs and get a one way flight ticket to start living the life we want to, it has been the biggest challenge.

Creemos que todos tenemos algo que aprender del otro.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Nos gustaría agredecerle a los anfitriones, ayudando con la casa, haciendo las compras, cuidando mascotas o cocinando algun plato tipico uruguayo, ademas de compartir conversaciones, experiencias y reflexiones.

We would like to thank the hosts, helping with the house, going to the market, taking care of pets or cooking a typical Uruguayan dish, as well as sharing conversations, experiences and reflections.
