Since I work freelance I try to enjoy my free time as much as possible. My goals are mainly work to travel. I feel pretty fortunate. I am a creative person and have my outlets. In my free time I run, get outside, paint, go to see music, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I originally signed up because I was traveling through Europe alone. On my trip I met a lot of people along the way, but wished I had used this more. Now I am using it is a way to connect with people in the places I am visiting even if it just to find out about the place from a local perspective.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My parents met a British couple in a bar while abroad in Italy. When I was in England I visited them a few times. Though the husband passed a few years ago, I still consider Jean, the wife, one of the most special people I know. And her place is always open to me. We try to visit at least every two years.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - usually whatever a good friend lends me. Movies - Brazil, Rushmore, Clockwork Orange, Out of Africa, etc.
Music, The beatles, Pink Floyd, Wilco, Beta Band, The Shins, Radiohead, Bright Eyes, Nuetral Milk hotel, Clap Your hands Say yeah, Ray LaMontagne, My Morning jacket, led Zepplin, jeff Buckley and on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sunset on the Nile. Pompeii. Breaking into the Roman baths in Bath, England. New Year's in Prague. When my niece recognized my face to the first time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anyone who has something to say and share. People's enthusiasm gets me most interested in things and I like to hear if they feel strongly about something.

I have a BA in art history so I am always good to take to an art museum.
