About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Planning the next trip!

ABOUT ME

How to fill this in without sounding like a school report or personal ad...I'm short but have a big backpack. I'll have a conversation with anybody, or at least try to. I'm neat and well-behaved when I need to be. I like a drink once in a while and I'm finally learning to like Guinness:)

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be laid back about stuff - mostly the things that bother other people don't really get to me. Everything tends to work itself out eventually. Even the bad experiences you have tend to make the best stories later:P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I helped with CS guided tour with my friend in Luxemboug, have attended a few events in Dublin and have moved in with four other couchsurfers in the northside of Dublin... I've had many's the pint/map-reading session/transport consultation/food sharing/random chat/getting into the Book of Kells for free with a couchsurfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been unofficially surfing the couches of friends and family at home and abroad for many a year, but only had my first proper couchsurfing experience in Portugal in 2011 - and a very good start it was too! Since then, I've also had great chats, meals and evenings out with many couchsurfers hosted in the shared house I live in, as well as more couchsurfing adventures around Central and Eastern Europe.

Interests

I like to travel, meet new people, also music (I'm learning the ukulele, my baby), watching films, reading, kayaking (and watersports generally), hiking, flea markets and junk shops - and I also rugby and football, but only as a spectator. I know a lot for a girl, apparently.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty nerdy with all these things - studied English literature, so reading-wise like a challenge. I also studied film so like to watch all sorts of random stuff there too - but won't say no to a stupid comedy or cartoons! As for music I tend to stick to indie/alternative/stuff that's not in the music charts, but other than that I listen to a mix of lots of different genres from all kinds of eras.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hung on for dear life on the back of the mopeds of South East Asia. And cycled the Wats of Ankor. I've gotten sunburnt on some awesome white-sand beaches, from Thailand to Fiji. I've swum with a turtle and mantarays in Western Australia. I've zip-lined through a jungle in Laos and slept in a treehouse. I've conquered the Tongoriro Mountain Crossing in New Zealand and survived rafting a 7 metre waterfall. I've frog-danced with the locals around a pole during mid-summer in Stockholm's archepelago. I've chased random invaders from my tent at music festivals. I've surfed on the rain-cursed West of Ireland. And survived to tell the tale.

Teach, Learn, Share

Know a little bit of the Irish language (no, it's NOT our dialect when speaking English, although that might sound like a foreign language sometimes...) some mean(and probably questionable) Irish-dancing moves too. Have a pathetic level of French that I wouldn't mind some practice with.

Countries I’ve Visited
