Overview
About Me
Back at home in Santa Cruz, CA for the moment, and enjoying the sun. My current living situation does not allow me to host, but I'm happy to offer my knowledge about the town, hikes, and more to travelers. If we click, maybe we can meet up!
I'm a dual Philosophy-English major attending Zoom university. I love talking books and picking the brains of people who know things that I don't. Meals are a fun event in my house, and all of them are vegan or vegetarian. When I'm not doing school, I like to take hikes, rock climb, and slackline, listen to audiobooks, play board games and pickleball.
420 and drug habit friendly, and a slut for hard kombucha. Trying, unsuccessfully, not to be too much of a caricature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I host because it's always a great experience, and I want to give back to the CS community. Some of my hosts have helped shape my worldview in profound, positive ways, and all of them have taught me that the world isn't out to get you. I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone and participating in a trust-based community.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy harsh, layered sounds and very melodic sounds. Some artists and genres I like are: post punk, Clipping., The Pouges and The Clancy Brothers, Black Midi, The Magnetic Fields, old folk (think Guthrie and Bikel), Babe Rainbow, Tokyo's Revenge, and more!
Books + Authors: So many! To name a few...John Steinbeck and Jack London, metaphysical poets and their modern foils, Beckett, de Beauvoir, most of Orwell, Ursula K. Le Guin, John Williams, Flannery O'Connor, David Foster Wallace, Jon Krakauer, Italo Calvino, Nabokov. Introduce me to some quality non-fiction or a neat play, and I'll be your best friend.
Movies and directors: everything by Satoshi Kon, any Michael Fassbender-Steve McQueen combo, Yorgos Lanthimos, campy (foreign?) horror movies, Quentin Tarantino, Force Majeure, The Fly, The Vanishing. Keep movies with an overpoweringly bass-heavy "soundtrack" away from me.
