About Me

I enjoy staying in a place for a while and live a peaceful life, talking with locals and making friends. It could be 3-30 days in one city, depends on cost.
Every year I spend a few months traveling and the rest time hibernating in my nest. Some of the travel stories can be found in the description of my photos.
Not in Beijing anymore, now I own an apartment in a small town (about 3 hours train to Beijing) and live there happily. Currently working remotely for my friend’s furniture business and have a cute stable (low) income. The rest time is usually spent on reading, painting, learning stuff, playing games.
Recently focus on learning more English and a few other languages, like an extinct ancient language Khotanese. It’s quite a fun studying it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really would like to meet people around the world, share each others' story and learn new things, it's always interesting to find new views of value. A person is like a world :)
At the same time I believe that the similarities between people are far greater than the differences.
I have a plan of traveling around the world and living in different countries in a long run. For now I am practicing my skills and getting prepared for this plan. Also I hope to find some traveling partners, I am used to traveling alone, but there will be more fun when there is some people to share to on the way.

Interests

Besides traveling, I'm into indie games, a lot of my friends are game developers. I also attended Ludum Dare for a few times as an artist.
Also I enjoy reading books, painting, and always curious about new knowledge. Recently learning playing guitar too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to appear on NHK.
There was a close-up of my face on Japanese NHK TV news as a hilarious sumo audience for at least 1 second.
I was very into sumo for a while. It is like a small ancient society running in modern times and it is very interesting to learn its cultural details.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning all the arts and sciences and would like to share those too.
Recently interested in Linguistics (that's also science, I suppose.) Anyone interested in Khotanese?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can paint a small watercolor painting for my hosts :) as you can find among my photos. By the way, my watercolor skill has improved a bit.
