About Me

Travel Addict currently living and working in Dubai, 30+ countries, sharing adventures and tips on how to book extremely cheap airfares on my blog http://GingerAroundTheWorld.com
How about 6 flights for 250 USD or flying long haul business class for 650 USD?

- Do you travel alone?
Yes, most of my trips I am traveling solo, so much more fun! There are only a few people I can travel with. I love the freedom and the opportunity to meet new people! My trips are also quite intense time wise and not everyone likes to do the same activities. I rather grab a coffee with a local. I have been very lucky to be hosted by expat friends in Dubai on their yearly trip home.

- What's your travel vision?
Moved to Dubai because life in Belgium was getting too boring. Everyone was settling and too tired to do anything, don't even talk about traveling ... 90% of Dubai's population is expat, so they moved countries, this makes it's much easier to meet like minded people. Dubai is also a perfect hub to travel. So even though I am working full time I manage to travel (personal) to around 10 countries each year, using long weekends or traveling to a few countries in a week. I know it's not the usual backpack style but on the other hand I love the overload of experiences in a short time. Over the years I also changed my travel style from sightseeing to connecting more with locals. I met so many cool people the last few years. In Singapore I even met up with an Instagram follower and in Kuwait I met a fellow blogger.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well I traveled to Kuwait in Dec 2016 where i met up with the Corporate Nomads blogger. He took me out with a couch surfing crew and that's when i realized i should connect with CS community here in Dubai and also give CS a try on my next trips.

I always blog about cheap air fares so if I can make my stays cheaper too, that would be great! One of my missions is also to proof that traveling does not have to be expensive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Swimming with whalesharks in Oslob.
- Sleeping in Capsule hotel
