ABOUT ME

We are two people- Erin and Aaron. Erin grew up in southwestern VA, Aaron grew up in southeastern NH, and somehow we met along the way.

We live together with some other folks in a funny octagonal house on a farm. We are doing our best to learn about growing food for ourselves and other people, and just living and working in our little town. We both work as caregivers for young people with developmental disabilities, and participate in a regional project about Food Security.

We are both serious people, but goofy at the same time. We are profoundly shaped by our love and reverence for the beauty of this world- the plants, stones, streams, clouds, animals and humans who make their homes here. We are serious because we see that there are threats to the continued existence of the beautiful living world, and we are serious about our opposition to these threats- racism and imperialism, bulldozers and missiles and prisons and the whole mess.

But we love to laugh, too. We live with a baby and a cranky old cat, and they help keep us from being Too Serious. We like making cookies and making up silly jokes and making gifts for our friends and dancing around the kitchen at all hours. Living in a collective household, and living on a farm, there are plenty of chores and plenty of times that try the patience. We try to have a good attitude, and remember to enjoy the work, and to laugh at the exasperating moments.

Did I mention we are very grateful and responsible houseguests? We won't eat your last piece of pie, and we know that washing dishes in someone else's kitchen is more fun than at home!
