ABOUT ME

I always find this difficult to do. I guess I'm a tall, green eyed, red head with very strong opinions, but always up for a good humoured debate. I also like wine and silliness. I'm South African. After some time in Lyon, I am now back in Cape Town, South Africa.

PHILOSOPHY

I met a Dutch man whilst WWOOFing in the Morvan over the summer (2014). He had taken off his suit and tie, and been traveling around Europe by foot and bike for some months. His philosophy is so simple and so important that I think everybody should take it to heart. So here goes: "Do whatever you want, but don't be a dick."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a couch surfer a few times, but not hosted anyone yet due to limited space. I look forward to returning the favour one day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

September 2011: Saw Bernini's sculptures at the Villa Borghese in Rome.

April/May 2014 + April/ May 2017: Spent a week walking around naked in the desert at AfrikaBurn (the largest regional Burning Man festival outside of the USA) in the Tankwa Karoo, South Africa.

2015: I slept in a traditional yurt, in a field, in Normandy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a very good recipe for chocolate mousse that I am happy to share. I love Asian food and all spicy food. I have learned how to make good stirfries so I can show you that. Otherwise, I am always happy to learn more recipes. I am working on improving my cooking.
