About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To share experiences with our world community
ABOUT ME
I work with middle schoolers, what a riot. I have a one year old daughter who loves to laugh, I like to do yoga, run on trails up the mountains around our little town with my dog Fiddle, climb with my husband Sol and our friends. Currently kicking it with my daughter and squeezing in other activities as I can :)
PHILOSOPHY
We only have the present. Appreciate it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spent much of my 20's traveling in other countries, sleeping on other couches. Once I hit the big 3-0 my husband and I bought a home in, my opinion, one of the most beautiful and inspiring mountain environments (minus the bavarian theme, which the tourists love anyhow). I'd love to give back and also stay connected to the international world by sharing our home and perhaps an evening meal.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences have all been through friends met while traveling, rather than this site. The world has been very generous. Couch surfing, to me, means making friends and learning/sharing cultures.
Interests
Learning. I'm obsessed with it: conversations with new perspective, how to grow delicious tomatoes, build a treehouse (my current home-improvement goal), new yoga poses, the history of...everything, snow safety, becoming a better teacher, puns, watercoloring, culinary adventures...mmm.

Music, Movies, and Books
Depends on my mood. Very broad spectrum. Independent, foreign...historical non-fiction...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, as I like to live in the present, today must be it, right? I'm continually amazed I get to live in such a beautiful place. Crisp, clean air, mountains, river, aspens, alpine lakes...In the past? Spent time with a Zapotec healer in Oaxaca who shared many medicinal practices and traditional healing stories with me; learned to milk goats with a mountain family in Turkey; detained by the Turkish military a couple times--got a great free meal and some tea; watched the fog roll in from the Atlantic over the beautiful rolling hills of Doolin, Ireland; climbed in the original Sierra Nevadas; practiced Ramadan with my Moroccan housemate in Sevilla; tutored street kids in Oaxaca...most importantly, though, married my wonderful husband Sol :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can take you bouldering in the spring/summer/fall or tubing the river in the summer. I love to cook delicious whole foods from our garden and have great gluten/egg/soy/dairy free recipes.
