Overview
About Me
I would say I am a bit of a nomad. I was born in England, followed my family to France when I was 8, spent my final year of a Language degree at a University in southern Spain, before upping sticks and moving to Scotland. My travels are driven by my curiosity to discover new cultures, new lifestyles.
I am very sociable, love interacting with others, meeting new people. I am quite happy to settle in anywhere and just learn to fit in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The insight one gets from immersion into the life of a local is much more valuable than the brief amazement that a touristic site can bring. There is nothing more genuine than a local's advice when it comes to the best places to eat, drink, explore, and have fun, and couch surfing can also be a way of sharing these experiences with others. Although I haven't couch surfed before, I have been a HelpXer and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Interests
As you may be able to tell from my studies, I love languages. I am fascinated by the wide understanding of concepts that you acquire from learning a new language.
Sustainability and International Development are growing interests of mine.
Food is also a big passion, as previously mentioned (oops...). I love exploring with new recipes, especially when fresh and locally sourced produce is available!
I also really enjoy just spending time in cafes, having a good chat with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Indie music's nice to listen to on a day-to-day basis. But I really do like a bit of everything, even if that sounds cliche. Tracy Chapman and James Vincent McMorrow are up there amongst my favourites.
The Untouchables is definitely one of my favourite films.
Books, umm, more fictional than fact, although I enjoy books about the history of the 20th century.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I've done is move to Edinburgh. Well, by amazing, I mean I'm pretty glad I did it.
Because, nope, haven't gone and jumped out of a plane or anything crazy like that yet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some French, Spanish or English if you like, and maybe a bit of Chinese...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I LOVE to share cooking and baking. One of the things I really enjoy when travelling is exchanging and exploring different recipes and specialities. There is something comforting about sitting round a table of interesting food and sharing our culture.
I can also share my smile, laughter, kindness...and attention! I would love to hear all your stories!
