关于我
I'm a 22 year-old recent college graduate looking to volunteer for the PeaceCorp. In the meantime, I'm working in Dayton, Ohio, heading to Athens, Ohio every so often, and moving to Nice, France in the fall.
I majored in philosophy with minors in film and political science, and I love to talk in all these areas, as well as many others. Particularly music, which has always been a huge interest to me.
I should be headed to Austin for a couple weeks in July, and will probably stop in Nashville a couple times. So if you find yourself in Austin or Nashville during the second half of July, or Dayton or Athens during the rest of the Summer, don't hesitate to message me if you are looking for a friend!

I've seen the internet and the social media explosion as of late in all its greatness and horror, and I have to say that this website is one of those that adds to the greatness. Its amazing for much-needed global community building, and it allows people everywhere to experience different cities and cultures in the most organic way possible: meeting gracious locals, being introduced to the little things that make each city awesome, and escaping the alienating and monotonous atmosphere created for most tourists.

Film. I'm currently in the process of producing and directing the first film I'm willing to submit to festivals.
Philosophy. Majored in it and it very well might be what I go to grad school for. In many ways its what everything ultimately comes down to and one of the activities that makes life a gift.
Drinking. I occasionally brew my own beer, but I also love trying as many others as I can. Also, its hard to beat a good wine, a good cocktail, or a good buzz.
Eating. Unfortunately college money made it hard for me to really improve my cooking to where I know it can be, but I have been able to try a good amount of food for someone at my age. Still haven't found anything better than a good steak though...
Politically-interested people. While my faith in grassroots change may be at a low, I still love to see people trying. If not that, its nice to see people who have an interest in the world at large and how it operates.
Art. Okay, I already put film and music, but really I should expand it to all forms of art. Its awesome to see people expressing themselves and their unique position in life.
Adventure. I think my whole life is about trying to see something new.

音乐、电影和书籍
Music: Six albums that really stick out to me are:
Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
Blu - Her Favorite Colo(u)r
Swans - Greed
Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
The Knife - Shaking the Habitual
I've never been able to shake my adoration of Beethoven and Mingus, but more recent artists I absolutely love are The National, Nas, Sharon Van Etten, and Death Grips.
Movies: My favorite directors are Kubrick, PT Anderson, David Lynch, Tarkovsky, and Polanski.
My favorite movies are A Clockwork Orange (will never get over seeing that for the first time), Inherent Vice, Blue Velvet, Office Space, Birdman, The Rules of the Game, Man with a Movie Camera, Nostalghia, and 2001.
Books: Traditionally I've been fond of the lost generation writers, particularly Hemingway, but I'm getting into more of the Russian philosophical literature. You have to keep in mind though that the majority of my reading has been analytic philosophy, as there is never time to read anything else hardly in college.
Some favorites all around:
Richard Rorty - Contingency, Irony, and Solidarity
Ernest Hemmingway - The Sun Also Rises
Tom Wolfe - The Electric Koolaid Acid Test
Henry Sidgwick - The Methods of Ethics
Kurt Vonnegut - Slaughterhouse Five
F. Scott Fitzgerald - The Great Gatsby
Currently, I'm reading The Brothers Karamazov and loving it. As far as philosophers go, I like Hume, Korsgaard, and Dennett for being able to write analytic philosophy with a certain flair. William James and Richard Rorty are also enjoyable reads. Idea-wise, I'm into Sidgwick, Dewey, and Rawls a lot.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Hard to say in such a short life. I mean I've lived four years as an adult. I will say I'm proud of the person I was throughout college. I took care of those who needed it, and I was taken care of when I needed it. I helped add to the amazing Athens community by trying to help strangers as much as I could, giving to the amazing small programs, and never doing wrong to anyone I lived with.

If they are interested, a good conversation. Also, I'd have to be in pretty dire straights (probably wouldn't even be there, in this case) if I couldn't at least buy them a six-pack. On top of this, I can assure that I'd be respectful guest and an attentive listener to any concerns they may have.
