About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Rotterdam, I've been studying in the lovely student town Utrecht for quite a while now. Whenever I can though, I try to find (research) projects abroad to get a taste of something different, so I spent more than half a year studying in Ankara, half a year studying in Wellington, and a few months in different parts of Spain. Currently I'm doing an internship in Luxembourg and try to have some fun here.

I think of myself as an open-minded, easy-going guy, usually with a smile on my face. I'm an active person who enjoys cycling (as a good Dutchie), running, football and other sports, as well as the usual fun involving drinking/dancing/music/movies etc. My favourite way of travelling has been on a bicycle over the last few years, and I spent more than 10.000 holiday kilometers on a bicycle (Holland to Istanbul, Holland to Paris, Turkey-Syria-Jordan-Israel, New Zealand).

Planning to cycle the rest of the world as well someday!

PHILOSOPHY

It's better to want what you get, than to get what you want!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not too much yet, actually I've had this account for quite a while now, but never really used it. Time to change this! Through my girlfriend's account I've hosted a few people in Ankara, and while hitchhiking around in Turkey also we used her account to find places to stay. So far only good experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to name a highlight, but cycling through the Middle East was definitely a special trip.
