About Me

Hello there! My name is Ginya Marr and I'm a rising junior at Williams College in Massachusetts.

I first lived abroad when I was 6 years old and my family moved to Nicosia, Cyprus for a semester for my father's work. Though I was only a child, I adored my months in Cyprus and vowed to travel and explore the world further. Since then, I've been fortunate enough to live in Washington D.C. for a semester and Muscat, Oman for a year. I've also been able to travel a lot in the last few years, especially during an 8 week solo trip around Western Europe a few summers ago! And last summer, I spent a month a half in Morocco teaching & then a month volunteering with refugees in Lesvos, Greece.

Each of these experiences has broadened my mind, allowed me to meet dear friends, and given me dozens of joyful memories! I hope to have similarly influential (and enjoyable!) experiences this summer while in Spain (Catalonia) for six weeks, and would love for you to be a part of that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love nothing more than learning about other cultures and meeting people. Because of this, I know that Couchsurfing is the perfect way for me to travel! Not only does it allow me to meet other adventurous folk, but it makes it possible for me to approach each place I visit as a local, rather than a tourist, and therefore to have a unique, genuine experience. I'm excited to see what this trip has in store for me, and I look forward to meeting all of you lovely fellow couchsurfers out there!
