About Me

I'm Gio, a struggling software engineer. If you ask me where I'm from, I have 3 answers. I am of Filipino ethnicity, but family is based in Australia, and currently working in Malaysia. Easy answer, right? Usually introverted but occasionally forced to go out because of circumstance.

If ever I am in Adelaide, Manila or Kuala Lumpur, hit me up and I can show you around for free. I love connecting with people, just shy initially.

Outside of work, I love to just randomly walk around and stop by at random train stations to see what each area brings. If with other people, I love to bond with them over food and a nice conversation, anything about life, culture and differing opinion. For sport, I am a washed football player. I can still play from time to time.

I would be the last person my friends would think of who would use Couchsurfing, yet here I am. This is something new I want to experience. Moving out of my comfort zone and surviving in countries where I have no similar culture were great reasons for me to go and explore more. I hope we can connect and help me learn more about the world, and I'll try to share what I have learned along the way as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Never too late to try something new. Initially, just to kill boredom, but realized it is actually fun, especially cultural exchange, gaining insights and open new perspectives in my otherwise mundane life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Coldplay is my tune. More of a documentary type of guy ranging from history, nature and economics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learned how to ride a bicycle without anyone teaching me and without training wheels at age 7. I know every Pokemon in existence as well, if thats a brag 🤓 (It said only one amazing thing but this is also amazing right?)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can ofcourse teach you the languages I know which are just two - English, Filipino. I am a software engineer and can also teach you the basics of programming if interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a well-adjusted guy and love to help with house chores and do errands- as long as they do not involve tall height requirements, math and vegetables.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand
