About Me

HELLOOOO! My name is Gioia, a 23-year-old girl currently living in Bologna both as a student and waitress. I joined the Couchsurfing community while doing my Erasmus in France two years ago and I loved so much the experience that since then I couldn't stop thinking about it! Meeting cool people, enjoying their culture, and hanging out with them was the best thing ever about those "small trips" around France back then.

Unfortunately, after France, I haven't had the chance to Couch surf while traveling again, but still, I had great adventures for almost three months and a half exploring South East Asia with my best friend Caterina.

Can't wait to start again!

Little detail: I love beer, so please help me try the best craft beers in your country :)

Next adventure: Bologna-Malmo by train, from the 18th of April to the 5th of May!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm sure that the dimension of travel is something that needs to be shared, as a biologist I can say that we're social animals and so we need other people around to fully enjoy our new experiences and to grow in the meantime.
Not to be obvious but "happiness is real only when shared", that's Couchsurfing purpose and that's why I'm here :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All that jazz and rock stuff!
Film: cult, fantasy, I'm a TV series nerd. I hate horror movies, pls don't let me watch them or I won't sleep ahahaha
Book: I found it very calming and relaxing to read tourist guides haha. Recently I've been getting passionate about graphic novels and manga, still I'm a beginner at it, but if you know stuff, I'll be happy to hear you introduce them to me!
I love visiting museums, I find them relaxing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been traveling for a month around Italy, Germany, and France living in camperized car. One of the best months of my life!!! I've felt incredibly free.

Taking a dip in a frozen lake after having had a sauna in Finland!

Traveling around SEA for three months with my best friend without taking any airplane (on bus, scooter, train, ferry...tuk-tuk!) :DD

Teach, Learn, Share

I can be both a good Italian and English teacher! Good cooking skills (only vegetarian/vegan food though)!
Still, I would love to learn other languages exchange, so why not learn something new? Isn't it the purpose of traveling?
Of course, I'm not taking the Couchsurfing community as a free accommodation website, but as a way to feel the places that I'm going to! Can't wait to hang out with you, know people, and visit places together!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Kindness, open-mindedness, good chats, tasty food (I can cook a very good Italian risotto if you'd like so)
