About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find a place to live: at the moment I miss my house, the place where I put my heart in the last 3 years and a half - and I feel lost and without belonging to anywhere. So my mission is to find a stability. and
have enough time to live. Find a balance between the need for adventure and the need for stability. No contradiction.
Time is the most precious good we have. And it is limited.
Learning to distinguish who really is able to share and who is not able and keeps on a superficial and distant level.

ABOUT ME
Hopefully we will meet and you will find out who I am ;)
very curious, and quite enthusiastic for getting out the best of life.
PHILOSOPHY
"It's only on a train or sunk into an airplane seat, but above all on a sailing boat, that I'm living in the present. Otherwise I want too much. 100 lives to live, 1000 books to write and even more to read, new persons to meet and to make friends with, stones to find and smooth, stars to watch, scientific theories to elaborate, more seas to sail. And so on. I'd like to have more lives to live, but I have only one.
It is not complitely easy to find the solution to life's problems, so that the problems themselves can vanish. But it's possible. It is possible to take our own time. It is possible to live a life a bit different from the one already traced for us."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been member of HospitalityClub for a quite a long, then Servas, and now CS
CS is the only way to travel that is worth, not because it makes you save money but because it makes you feel among friends wherever you are, and people who really want to share themselves with you (well some exceptions I found, but rarely)
I will never forget some morning breakfasts with people, some evening music events, some chatting - it makes me feel the world is a wonderful place full of friends, ready to open their house, their kitchen, their heart - change starts with a small step, and we can all make the difference
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I generally host a lot people who hosted me
At the moment I might be travelling or being unable to host...
Interests
movies, books, museums, piano and guitar, photography, cooking, singing, krav maga, languages, meditation, massage, hiking, nature, wine, internet.
Not necessarily in that order.
People: I am curious about how people live, what they like or what makes them happy in life.
Travels: I cannot see the point in travelling just to tick touristic places and or must-to-do actitivities.
Make me curious about your interests - I love discovering new good things in life

Music, Movies, and Books
life is too short for bad movies, bad books, bad wine, bad persons.
(I admit I have a soft spot for directors whose name start with K sound...)
love Cohen brothers movies at the moment
my guru-book giving practical tips on how to live a few years on a small sailing boat: "Cape Wrath to Finisterre" by Bjorn Larsson (after reading that, I took my decision to leave my job and sail)
Reading used to heal my heart.
I'm not into comics but I really loved Neil Gaiman's "Sandman"
Music: any, any, any kind, really.
From Vivaldi to Portishead... but no punk!
always world music, lately a lot of folk music from wherever
bluegrass is my new love
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) I suffer from sea-sickness BUT I quit my job to sail and work while sailing (4 years)
2) I suffer heights BUT in spring 2008 I did canyoning in the Verdon (France) - I climbed down with ropes 200 mt of waterfalls with no water (70 mt the highest one )
3) I suffer cold weather BUT winter holidays (08/09)- motorbiked italy-budapest, under the snow from 25 december till 10 january - bloody cold, but lot of fun!
4) I m quite active BUT I love doing vipasssana retreats sometimes, 10 days in noble silence meditating 12 hours p/day
5) I quit my job again to teach italian in Germany (which I already did in my hometown)
6) slept in the parks of Victoria with a nice sleeping bag, and in the parks of Vancouver,
7) was hosted with my tent in an indian reservation in Canada, spending time talking with a family and waking up in front of the lake
8) slept on the beach of the Great Lake in the Northwest Territories in Canada, and woke up with a nice bath in the lake
9) searched for gold in Yukon, and slept in an isolated cabin in the wood where I was expecting bears close to the toilet...
10) swimmed with turtle in the coral reef in Sulawesi and Papua
11) saw small sharks in raja ampat
12) slept inside a hut in Timor, then the morning after pushed the jeep up to a hill because it was stuck in mud after rains!
13) participate in a crematory ceremony in Bali and prayed with locals during a celebration
14) ate the best fish at the fishnight market in Papua
15) travelled in the back of an open van twice after hitchhiking in sulawesi, with other people
16) was invited to a wedding party the first night in New Dehli and ate all the wonderful food while people took pics making me feel like Lady Gaga - this was after entering a theatre and watching a wonderful show of indian traditional dances for free in a cultural centre
17)was invited to another wedding party in Yogakarta
18) had wonderful talks with the owned of a pension in Jaipur, a beautiful soul
19) watched the burning bodies in Varanasi
20) cut the logs in vancouver island with CS friends to make their supply for winter
21) and whatched the whales and orcas in Telegraph Code (vancouver island)
22) slept in a small sailing boat in the Vancouver harbour, and the next day sailed to beautiful small places
23) the best is still to come....
I dont want to forget my life and the good moments, especially if and when shared. That would make life empty and meaningless
