About Me

I am Italian, from a town near Milan, but I've been living in Norway since 2010. I live with my husband in a cozy (and tiny) apartment in the center of Hamar.
I work at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences as teacher and researcher in physical activity and public health.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet up with new people, possibly making friends.
I'd like to discover new places in the region where Im living, and would be very happy to show my favorite places to travelers.
I might be able to host travelers, but as I said my apartment is not particurlary large and we are not always in town. But give it try if you really need a place to stay or want to visit Hamar.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My taste ranges from Red Hot Chilly Peppers, to Queen, to Frank Zappa, but I also enjoy smooth jazz and bossa nova. I enjoy Italian artists like Subsonica, The Blue Beaters, and Vinicio Capossela

Movies: In general I like historical and biographical movies (e.g. The Imitation Game), but also psychological thrillers with clever twists (e.g. Ex Machina).
I LOVE all Tarantino's movies, but also some great Italian movies like Mediterraneo and Romanzo Criminale.

Books: my favorites authors are Isabelle Allende and Nicolo Ammanniti, of whom I read almost all books. Of the former I've specially loved "The house of the spirits" and "The island under the sea". Of the latter I especially loved "Fango" and "Io non ho paura".
Other books I liked a lot: "Thousand wonderful Suns" (by K Hosseini), "Story of Pi" (by Y Martel), "Pride and prejudice" (by J Austen), "Il fu Mattia Pascal" (by L Pirandello).
I've also read several books co-edited by HH the Dalai Lama together with different writers, journalist and researchers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing experiences I have had are linked to the far north of Norway, where I lived for about one year. Seeing amazing northern lights and following the Finnmarksløp, Europe longest and northernmost dog-sled race, in a caravan were Among the best!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always very interested to learn about other people's experiences, culture, ideas, etc. I enjoy being dragged in discussions about various topics, granted that both sides keep an open mind!

What I can teach? You'd probably find me prepared on issues like health, physical activity, education, health equity, health psychology. I'm glad to share, if you are interested 😊

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been working as a fitness and sport instructor for basically all my adult life. We can exercise together or I can even be you personal trainer or exercise adviser - what do you like most? Weight lifting, gymnastics, yoga, ZUMBA/Latin dances, "green exercise", or simple walks in beautiful nature. I'm pretty eclectic 😊

I can of course offer you some very Italian espresso coffee and delicious dishes 😉

Countries I’ve Visited
