Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in the sunny state of Florida, where oranges grow ubiquitously and beach-sand blows in the wind. At the age of 8 I went on my first overseas voyage, to India. It was a special spiritual journey to place my father's ashes in a holy river. A few years later I went to Europe--Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris. I became interested in language and would try to imitate native speakers. Since these early voyages, I've traveled far and wide in an attempt to soak up, through first-hand accounts, as much as the world has to offer. I've been such places as Germany, Bali, Thailand, Nepal, Guatemala, Colombia, and some more in between. I've been amazed by humanity and the natural world, so much so that I've defined a new approach to living: permatravel.
Other things: I'm a vegetarian and I like frisbee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In a nutshell: to share. To share knowledge, ideas, culture, language, and most certainly laughs! I believe that cross-cultural interaction is one of the most consciousness-expanding experiences.
Interests
I love to learn. I find myself enthralled by all things travel, technology, progressive living, healthy eating, language, spirituality, music (I'd love to learn more instruments, like the guitar, but have been trained in the djembe hand drum). I am interested in learning mostly so I can teach, to be able to share that knowledge in a meaningful way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Lately I've been listening to a lot of Odesza and Milky Chance. I grew up with the Beatles and Bob (Marley and Dylan) have always been there for me. I like both mellow and energetic (think Bon Iver to Daft Punk).
Movies: my all time favorite is probably Baraka. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a treat. I like Adam Sandler, anything Robin Williams, Gladiator, etc. Oh yeah, can't forget the Lion King or Aladdin. Disney flicks are amazing.
Books: the Celestine Prophecy, Be Here Now, Autobiography by a Yogi...pretty much anything containing esoteric teachings. I also read a lot of travel literature.
