About Me
CURRENT MISSION
HelpX our way around Australia - working on farms to gain animal experience, absorb other cultures and make new friends and memories.
ABOUT ME
I consider myself to be a happy-go-lucky sort who delights in making new friends, seeing the world, sharing stories/adventures, learning, living and loving. The great outdoors is where I feel at home so have been working as a park ranger prior to travelling. I'm passionate about animals so plan on pursuing a career as a wildlife ranger - hence Helpxing on farms in order to build a portfolio. I briefly worked on a camel farm in France. My favourite animal is the goat. What's yours? I enjoy climbing, swimming, Yoga, Pilates - I would try anything once - I would love to learn Poi or contact ball. I read - sometimes a lot, sometimes a little but always a book and never a kindle. I like a drink but i'm not an alcoholic. I think i'm funny - well, i laugh at my own jokes even if no-one else does but then if you can't laugh at your own jokes, how can you expect anyone else to find you funny? I also ramble a lot... Oops.
PHILOSOPHY
I sometimes can't believe I'm what would be considered a grown-up. I try to embrace my inner child by not taking life too seriously. The child in us all is where our imagination, creativity, fearlessness, sense of wonder and adventure lies. I'm not afraid to be silly or make a fool of myself. That being said, I am not childish, I'm just more prepared to give things a go - even if it scares me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
To date, no couch other than my own has had the pleasure of my company... Any lonely couches out there that need a friend, I'm here waiting. ;)
Interests
I mentioned some of these already in my 'me' section but here goes... I like climbing (bit out of practise) swimming, Yoga, Pilates, walking, food, photography, reading, talking (shit sometimes but not all the time, I swear!) Animal welfare (done plenty of volunteering), gardening and DIY. I studied English with Creative Writing at uni so occasionally put pen to paper and doodle some verse. And last but by no means least - Music! I'm not sure i could exist without it!

Music, Movies, and Books
Ahhh, where to begin. I believe that I have an extensive movie repertoire. You name it, I've quite possibly seen it! I don't discriminate when it comes to genres. I do love a good horror film! I'm still trying to find a film that can scare me like when I was a little one - recommendations always welcome! As for music, I consider myself to be quite eclectic. Bluegrass, blues, folk, rock, country, ska, and soul tend to be my most listened to choices. Again, I love to discover/share new/old music - my ears welcome it! Books: I already have way too many but always have room on my shelf for one more...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cambodia - seeing the sunrise over Ankor Wat on New Year's day 2013 was a magical and memorable start to the year.
Volunteering with my boyfriend at Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand - a charity that cares for neglected and abused street dogs/cats. It was a pleasure to be a part of a team of people dedicated to caring for these animals.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied sign language for a couple of years so could possibly teach some basic signs. I also studied Creative Writing at uni so could possibly encourage/share/create together.
I am the person you want on your team if going to a pub quiz - bit of a movie, music, book boffin.
If anybody has the patience to teach me poi or contact ball, i would be a willing student!
