About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To walk, to cycle, to dance and travel again

ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing and openminded person. I love meeting new people, sharing experiences and having fun. I am very optimistic, I enjoy life in every aspect, no matter is a good or a bad day. I love cooking for friends. I think there is nothing better than a good meal together with an interesting conversation, laughs and music. I love travelling. For me it does not mean taking pictures next to beautiful buildings but to get involve with the local people, to learn from them, their culture, their idiosyncracy, the way they see life and live it.
I have itchy feet. I am always doing lots of things at the same time and always willing to do more but have no time :). I am very interested in what happens around me, I am curious about life and adventurous.

PHILOSOPHY

LOVING AND COOKING WITH RECKLESS ABANDON.
Nothing is impossible. Persevere and you'll succeed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed quite a few couches, matresses and even floors. And last year I had my first CS experience in Berlin (thanks to Gabrielle and Andor!), it was amazing. There is no doubt that getting to know the people you really get to know the place. Defenitely the best way to travel and open your mind.

Interests

Always ready to travel anywhere. Laying down on the grass at night to see falling stars. Running under the rain. Having a good meal with friends. Cycling the world. Cooking and experimenting with flavours. Watching any kind of films. Doing exciting outdoor sports whenever I can (climbing, hiking, wakeboarding, etc). Making radio programs and documentaries. Listening to all the music I find, and moving my feet while I do it. Finding a challenge. "Snoozing" in the mornings. Trying something new. Dancing.Laughing till my cheeks hurt.Sweets. Getting lost in the streets of a new place (finding the way back). Learning from others. Learning as many languages as possible. Reading everything that ends up in my hands. Photography, History, Anthropology and Ecology. And these are just some...

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste. Music is a very important part of my life, the first thing I do in the morning is playing some music. Every especific moment is linked to some kind of music, you know... I had my alternative rock period, then I started with blues, after a little bit of dance girl and so on... different periods, different moods, different sountracks of my life (remember High Fidelity??)
Jazz, Blues, Rock (specially oldies), Funk, Hip hop, Reggae, Bossa Nova, flamenco (I got it in my soul), R&B, electronic, chill out, electrotango, fussion, salsa, pop...whatever I feel like. Some the groups/artist I am listening nowadays: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project, Tori Amos, Tom Waits, Lauryn Hill, Coldplay, U2, EBTG, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughan, Joao Gilberto, Camaron de la Isla, Joss Stone, Dido, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Saint Germain, Morcheeba, Buddha Bar, Bill Evans, Lenny Kravitz, Elvis Presley....

Something I like doing while I listen to music is to read a good book. I love reading non-fiction books, biographies, travel books, history and geography, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, psicology, poetry, some fiction... Now I am very into latinamerican writers: Vargas Llosa, García Marquez, Benedetti, Borges, Walsh, Cortázar, Pablo Neruda

I love films, specially documentaries, comedies, psicological thrillers, suspense, animated movies and good dramas.
Some of my favourites movies and directors: The Pianist, Amelie, La vitta è bella, The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind,Citizen Kane, Bowling for Columbine, Snatch, Shrek, Ice Era (yeah I loved it)... Last acquisitions: Clocwork Orange (Kubric)and Irreversible (Gaspar Noe), Five Obstructions (Lars Von Tiers), Carandiru, Mala Educacion (Almodovar), Ciudad de Dios, Alex y Fany (Bergman). Directors: Woody Allen, Alex de la Iglesia, Roman Polanski, Martin Scorsese, Coen Brothers, Quentin Tarantino, Ingmar Bergman....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Falling in love. Dared to do things I never had dreamed of. Rapelled a cliff to reach a hidden beach in Brazil. Doing yoga and capoeira in the hills of Malvern in England while the sun was setting.
Sliding down a rope between trees in high speed (pretty exciting).
One of my most memorable experiences I had was to be chosen to take part in an international volunteer program held in England where I made great friends and lived amazing things that changed my mind and my soul for ever. Eating the most amazing dates ever in the moroccan souks.
