About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel, write and have fun.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a coastal city in China, but have also lived in the countryside and even in the woods, where I developed a love for nature. I enjoy the refreshments and inspiration I get from travelling to different places and meeting friends on the road.
I'm studying international journalism as a master candidate, which has led to my current internship with a news agency in Washington DC. I've been enjoying my stay here in the US and want to travel more around this magical country: )
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends. We would travel together or just go out eating and have fun. I also like to do some reading and attend book clubs.
PHILOSOPHY
Seek truth beyond tradition.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Almost eight years ago, when I just graduated from middle school and went travelling with my grandparents, I first heard Couchsurfing from a French gentleman I met on the train. Still, Couchsurfing is new to me and I hope I would have the chance to gain more experiences with it and see more of the world through others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm still new here! Hope I can have some couchsurfing experiences soon: )

Music, Movies, and Books
I like Jazz and soft rock very much. Norah Jones is my favourite!
I love a bunch of directors and their works: Vicky Cristina Barcelona by Woody Allen; Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola; The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson(I've been amazed by how he "interprets" Stefan Zweig in this movie). Recently I watched a Broadway show Nice Work if You Can Get it, which I enjoyed very much.
My interest in the roaring twenties makes me in love with music like George Gershwin's famous Rhapsody in Blue and books such as The Great Gatsby and The Sun Also Rises. Ernest Hemingway is my favourite writer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Counting down the days to graduation, I went to an unspoiled island in the very east of China with my friends. There were no sign of tourists there. We stayed with the fishermen, inside whose house I spotted the biggest spider I ever saw on the ceiling, and went fishing on the sea. We climbed dangerous cliffs and visited an abandoned lighthouse. I would never forget the breathtaking view I saw on the other side of the tunnel which we were about to go through: the bluest sea !
What I Can Share with Hosts
There are so many things I can share with my hosts. The different cultural backgrounds or life experiences we have would enable us to exchange all kinds of ideas: food, education, recreation, way of life...I think it's gonna be much fun!
If my hosts happen to be interested in China or Chinese, I can share with them my experience of growing up in China and help them practise Chinese.
Also, I could share with my hosts interesting things and people I meet on the road:)
