Overview
About Me
My name is Giselle, I’m 32 years old, and this year I started my “nomadic” journey. I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where I’ve always lived and absolutely love the city. However, I decided I needed to travel more, as it’s something that makes me feel truly complete.
I love meeting people, discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, learning new languages, and embracing new things. For me, traveling is an unparalleled freedom and an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and routine, encountering experiences I wouldn't have had otherwise.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe it's the best way to connect with locals and experience places in a more authentic way. I love meeting people from all around the world, sharing stories, and learning about different cultures. For me, Couchsurfing is about making meaningful connections and having experiences that go beyond just sightseeing. It’s a way to get to know a place through the eyes of its people and to build friendships that transcend borders. Traveling is about freedom, and Couchsurfing helps me embrace that spirit by allowing me to truly connect with the places I visit and the people I meet along the way.
Interests
I’m passionate about exploring the art scene around the world, trying food from every corner of the globe, and immersing myself in endless cultural activities. I love meeting new people and discovering different music scenes. Music is a big part of my life – I’m into electronic, experimental, indie, and pop genres.
I enjoy discovering new places, especially through hikes (nothing too difficult yet, as I’m still getting used to it!), and I appreciate the beauty of nature, although I also love being in the city. Modern art, galleries, thrift shops, and cafés are some of my favorite things to explore in every new place I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music spans various genres, including electronic, experimental, classical, and indie rock. I used to take piano lessons but paused them to pursue my travels, though my love for classical music and the piano still remains strong.
When it comes to movies, I’m a fan of the works of Christopher Nolan, Greta Gerwig, and Mike Mills – their storytelling always resonates with me. As for books, Elena Ferrante’s works have a special place in my heart, and "The Pianist" is a film and book I truly adore.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It’s hard to name just one amazing thing because every day feels like a new adventure. However, traveling to and staying in NYC was life-changing for me. It opened my eyes in so many ways.
My first Couchsurfing experience in Uruguay was both challenging and rewarding, and I’ve also used Couchsurfing in Argentina and Chile with my friend Livia (who is on my profile, so the reviews didn’t come to mine).
Another unforgettable experience was a challenging hike I did in Montenegro. I had an anxiety attack in the middle of nowhere, but I had to push myself, control my mind, and keep going. Looking back, I see it as a huge personal achievement and a moment of growth for me.
