About Me

I'm fascinated by other countries and cultures.
I love all things ancient. History and ruins awaken my imagination.
I love fast speeds, motorcycles and being in the air or on water, and would like to live on a boat some day.
Spicy food is the best, animals are great, and laughter is the best medicine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the world, slowly but surely! And meet cool locals while doing so. I love meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences. I appreciate the insight a local can give me to the culture, language, and hidden gems within a location. I'm a fairly out-going person and enjoy meeting new people, sharing dinners, stories and laughter.

Interests

The world and everything in it

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Fado, Klezmer, Electronic, Classical, Global Traditional, etc.
Books: Vagabonding by Rolf Potts. Marching Powder by Rusty Young, A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy by William B. Irvine, Mutiny on the Bounty by Peter Fitzsimons, anything by Anthony Bourdain, etc.
Movies: Documentaries, anything with Anthony Bourdain

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived breaking my neck. That was more luck than anything amazing on my part though. Hmm...I've trekked solo to Everest Base Camp 1! But to be honest it's really not that difficult, just high altitude walking haha.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me your language! I'd love to teach you mine! I've taught and tutored English and would love to help improve your English speaking skills through conversational practice. I make the best salsa/pico de gallo and love to share this "recipe". I also enjoy making jewelry and could share what knowledge I possess in regards to that. I love learning everything! There is much to learn in this life, and I am a student of the world
