About Me

Just graduated from the University of Florida! Originally from Miami - my mother is Mexican and my father is Puerto Rican. Spending an extra year in Gainesville and will be applying for the Peace Corps soon!

In undergrad, I majored in Sociology and minored in Latin American Studies. I also took courses in African American Studies and Women's Studies. Due to most of my academic career being centered on these topics, I identify as a "woke" brown girl - so a feminist and radical leftist. I am pro-black, pro-choice, pro-queer, etc. If you are a conservative and pretty right-winged, I don't think we should host one another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love, love, love spontaneous trips and traveling for music shows!

I usually spend my free time trying to plan inexpensive trips throughout the U.S.. Usually to check out potential graduate schools, museums, new food, events where social issues are talked about freely and productively, things that cater to the research I've been doing for years, etc.

And hopped around Europe for a bit a couple years back when studying abroad

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught English to Latin American immigrants in Gainesville, FL and work with underprivileged youth to get them into higher education. I am also part of the Latina Women's League.

I can share great vegetarian recipes and Puerto Rican recipes, too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation and hopefully a great sense of humor! But I can also bring some goodies!
