About Me

Hi :)

We are Giulia and Jake, and we’re two backpackers currently travelling around South East Asia.
Jake is English, and Giulia is Italian, but we both were living and working in England until a few months ago, when we decided to quit our jobs and go travelling around South America and South East Asia!

We have been travelling for 8 months now, and have loved every moment of it. We have encountered a lot of incredibly kind people, and we feel so lucky to be able to have this experience!

We both have always loved travelling - funnily enough, that’s how we met 6 years ago. 😅 It’s actually a really funny story, but we won’t spoil it for you. We can tell you in person if we ever meet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To us travelling is an open-minded and open-hearted business. It’s not just about ticking off places on your list. We’re interested in getting to know new people, new cultures, new traditions, as well as getting to know ourselves better.
We are thrilled at the idea of meeting couch surfers who have a similar philosophy!

Music, Movies, and Books

We love music! Jake loves punk, rock and country music. He also loves playing the guitar, and reaches peak happiness whenever we find one in any hostels we stay.
Giulia likes indie and punk-rock, but won’t say no to a little raeggeton ✨

We both love reading, and thanks to our little kindle we’ve been able to do so whilst travelling.
Some recent favourites are Life of Pi and a Suitable Boy.
Jake actually loves to write, and whilst we have been travelling he’s been writing a book!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Huemel Circuit in El Chaltèn. Truly one of the best multi-day hikes we’ve done so far!

Summited Volcano Chachani - it’s 6075 mt above sea level! We are sooo proud of ourselves for this one, even though the hike wasn’t really technical.

Dived in Indonesia: we did our open water course there, and fell in love with it!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can obviously teach you about our home countries, Italy and England, and share some stories/experiences from there.
Giulia also speaks Spanish fluently, so if you ever wanna practice Italian/Spanish/English, you’ve found the right people. :)

Last but not least, we can share food! We can make for you/teach you some real good Italian dishes. 🔥

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share our stories and experiences, maybe over some nice home-made Italian/English food!
If you wanted to practice English (or Italian, or Spanish) we would be really happy to give you a hand :)
