I am a first year anthropology student currently living in London. Not surprisingly for that background, I enjoy meeting people just to hear about their story and way of life. I also love finding beautiful alleyways by just wandering through cities and taking in the city through reading in cafes whilst imaging a life in that place. I am waitress in a very cute cafe in Halle (Saale) Germany, my home town. Being able to shape a city in a way that makes people feel at home, welcome and relaxed is something I truly treasure. It is my way of giving back to the the other cities I visit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have just started using couch surfing this summer on the recommendation of multiple friends. It is also my first summer in which I have to decide to explore the Europe outside of Germany, something I deeply regret not having done earlier. Now that I am living in London I have the perfect possibility to give back to a world of growing travels to which I am privileged to belong.

Music, Movies, and Books

I often get absorbed into two kinds of books. Either books on society and politics or books that ridicule and judge the human condition. So perhaps the same kind of book after all! Mikhail Lermontov is amongst my favourites and I love David Graeber‘s essays. When it comes it music I am a bit different. I profit from a lot of my friends having a very good taste in music. Thankful they constantly share their findings with me. But I am very willing to be shown new artists.
