About Me
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
Hello guys ;)
I'm Giulia and I'm from a small village in Italy.
I'm an open-minded person, I'm friendly, sunny and I have a big heart. I would love to be more active and productive.
I LOVE travelling and meeting new interesting people with different cultures and who speak different languages.
I lived in UK (Scotland and England), for a sum of 15 months as au pair after I finished High School in 2015.
When I came back to Italy I booked a one-way ticket to Spain and I spent there almost 2 months travelling solo and meeting lovely people from all over the world. It was one of the best things I did!
Now, I am studying at the university of Foreign languages and literatures of Trieste and since September 2019 I have been living in Germany (Regensburg) thanks to the Erasmus programme. During my time here I hope to learn German as better as I can and meet lots of wonderful people.
MY GOAL: "Live well!"
PHILOSOPHY: "Carpe diem!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to explore the world, meet amazing people, get to know different cultures. Maybe I just want to find my real self!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like every kind of music and I like to discover new/strange groups or singers.
I much prefer listening to rock, indie, pop-rock and italian singers-song writers (but I also listen to some crap!)
Foreign music: Nirvana, Gun's and Roses, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Cat Stevens, Michael Jackson, Jake Bugg, Ed Sheeran, ITACA, Ska-P etc.
Italian music: De Andrè, De Gregori, Guccini, De Gregori, Jovanotti, Venditti, Vasco Rossi, Gianna Nannini, Articolo31, Luna Pop, LLDCE, Cecco e Cipo, FASK, Matrioska etc.
My fav movie is "Fried Green Tomatoes" by Jon Avnet, 1991.
I like romantic, comedy, fantasy and, if they are not too scary, horror movies! :)
Tv series I watched: My mad fat diary, Parenthood, Orange is the new black, iZombie, Orphan Black, The shannara chronicles (first season), Camelot, Reign(3 seasons), New Girl, The end of the fucking world, Outlander, The handmaid's tale, Stranger Things, Suburgatory and The Crown(first season), Sex Education, Dark, Friends.
Books: I like reading but the book has to interest me for real or I won't be able to finish it: but I will try!
If you have any interesting books I can read just tell me :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode a camel in the middle of the desert in Dubai after a safari and then some people offered us dinner so I actually tried the camel. I didn't like it though! It's better to ride.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook the real carbonara, I always cook it to my friends from different countries and they always love it. I can also make the vegeterian version with crougettes!
I can also bake. I LOVE baking.
I would love to learn as many languages as I can: I studied English, Spanish and French at school and in Scotland I've learned some Bengali from my host family from Bangladesh.
I tried to study Russian online but I abandoned it. Now at uni, as I said above, I study languages so I started studying German from the very beginning (what a brave person I am!)
I would love learning how to play the guitar.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my passion for travel, music and cooking. I'd also love to talk about interests, travels and future.
