Overview
About Me
Hi there!
My name is Giulio, I’m currently based in Brisbane CBD and spending some time in Australia before continuing my martial arts journey in Indonesia.
I train every day and have been practicing Chinese martial arts (WuShu Kung Fu) for 13 years, with around 7 years of daily, consistent practice. This lifestyle has taught me discipline, calm, and respect for people and spaces, values I really carry with me wherever I go.
I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, and I live quietly. I’m clean, tidy, and considerate, and I always make sure to keep shared spaces organized and peaceful. I really appreciate calm environments and kind, open-minded people.
What I enjoy most when traveling is connecting with locals - sharing good conversations, small daily moments, and positive energy. I always try to be helpful around the house and bring a friendly and easy-going vibe.
If you host me, you can count on someone respectful, grateful, and easy to have around :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people who live life with curiosity and openness.
For me, traveling isn’t just about visiting new places, it’s about meeting genuine people, understanding their routines, and sharing everyday experiences.
I really enjoy meaningful conversations, but I also know how to respect personal space and keep things clean, quiet, and organized.
Since I’m currently staying in Brisbane for a while, I thought Couchsurfing would be a great way to meet kind and interesting people while feeling a bit more “at home” in the city.
I’m very easy-going, tidy, and respectful, I always do my best to bring good energy and help out wherever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
🎶 Music
I listen to a bit of everything, but lately I’ve been really into electronic music and film soundtracks.
From artists like RÜFÜS DU SOL to smaller independent DJs and producers such as Matt Lange — I love the creativity behind people who build their own sound.
When it comes to soundtracks, I’m drawn to epic and inspiring ones that make you feel something bigger, almost cinematic in themselves.
🎬 Movies
I’m into adventure, action, thrillers (some of them), and historical movies.
The Dark Knight trilogy will always have a special place in my heart — I watched it when I was younger and it completely fascinated me.
I’m also passionate about martial arts films, especially those directed by Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers), Wong Kar-Wai’s The Grandmaster, Ip Man (2008), Once Upon a Time in China, and many others.
Other movies that really stayed with me are The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Prince of Egypt, The Passion of the Christ, Avatar (2009), The Great Gatsby, The Chronicles of Narnia, and of course The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
📚 Books
The Bible is currently changing my life - it’s giving me a new perspective on discipline, peace, and purpose.
I’ve also found great inspiration in the Bhagavad Gita and the Tao Te Ching, each offering wisdom in its own way.
I enjoy reading about sports and personal growth too - books like The Mamba Mentality by Kobe Bryant, Relentless and W1nning by Tim Grover, and many others that fuel my mindset and motivation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went from being a complete dump in Chinese Martial Arts (aka KungFu) when I was a kid to being 12/13 years later pretty much Italy's National Champion in Taolu (forms, like kata for Karate, search on YouTube XD ) and 4 times Italy's national Vice-Champion in my weapon of choice (so to speak).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Italian, Chinese Martial Arts and KungFu for fighting, maybe a bit of self defence or performance as maybe an actor or something along those lines. You want to learn KungFu? Then I can be the guy who gets you started on that!
I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese and go beyond the basics that I know, but if you don't know it it's completely fine, and learn more about every culture in the world in general. Everything makes your soul richer in that sense.
I would love to share each and everyone of my passions and a bit of time exercising maybe, but if you're not much into that it's completely fine.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good energy, interesting conversations, and a calm, respectful presence.
I’m always happy to help out with small things around the house, cook something simple, or lend a hand if there’s anything to be done — I like keeping spaces clean and organized.
I can also share stories from my martial arts journey and life in Italy or Australia, and I love talking about discipline, training, travel, and culture.
Whether it’s sharing a meal, a workout session, or just a peaceful evening chat, I always try to bring a positive attitude and gratitude to every place I stay.
