About Me

Hello! I'm Giulio and I'm Italian. I'm 23 years old, and I study Dentistry at University of my own city (Palermo).
Now I'm in Erasmus at Ljubljana, actually a great city! :)
I love travelling, because the world entire is beautiful and there are so many different places that is unfair to do not know them all.
Everytime you travel you are able to do new knowledges, new friends, and you have new funny stories to tell when you come back home!
I'm also a Volunteer of a no profit association, AFS, which try to search the intercultural dialogue through let meeting different cultures. In particular, we offer the possibility to spend one year in another part of the world for students of high school (age 15-18) that have to live one year in another country, in another family, in another school making new friends.
Thanks to AFS, i had the possibility to met so many friends from all the world. I'm happy to do a volunteer work like this because it is not just in one way. I had a lot from all of people that i met, I knew about their cultures, and i notice some differences beetween their and mine, but if you know something it's easier to understand and to accept and tolerate differences, even if you don't agree with them.
I like music, I listen a lot of kind of music, I'm pretty eclettic (i like rock, progressive, folk, jazz, blues, pop, raggae, pop) but unfortunatelly I'm not able to sing/play any instrument (i just sing under the shower with my family's disappointment (x )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel in a different way. I want to try an unconventional way to visit the world, and I think that you can see better a place with somebody that can help you to 'live' it not in a touristic way but with eyes and experiences of who lives in a place for a long time.
I don't actually search one tourist guide in a host. It's much more fair to say that I'm searching a travel-mate, even if of course I know that the host may be very busy when I'm on holyday, so I'm able to understand when he/she wants/needs to be free.
I'm totally indipendent, so as I want my space I don't want to be a load for anyone. But for sure couchsurfing can give possibilities to making new friends and to do some activities together :)

Interests

I like to spend time with my friends, everywhere and in any way.
I like travelling, also everywhere and in any way
I like technology, I'm a little bit nerd and I spend my free time to practice with computers (windows or linux) but I don't like the way some people use the internet, in my opinion it is not an alternative way to do friendship,, and so I think that it can be just complementary for being in contact with some friend that is faraway.
I like sports, soccer, kart, tennis, tennis-table

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being born!

Teach, Learn, Share

Nothing to 'teach'.
Everything to learn. (learning never stops!)
A lot to share.

I think you can have a significant role in a person's life, both if you are his best friend or just a acquaintance.
sharing ideas and experience is one of the thing that I imagine in my mind when i've to think about 'freedom'
The freedom of being yourself, and tell what exactly you think without fear is important for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My little experience of life, my ideas, my congeniality.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Tunisia

Countries I’ve Lived In
