About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travelling, living adventures, meeting new people and discovering new cultures.
ABOUT ME
Besides being a nature and animal lover, I would define myself as a very flexible and hard-working person: anything new and exciting is capable of arousing my curiosity and I am always ready to put all my efforts into every new experience with enthusiasm and energy.
I have a degree in Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy and in the last couple of years I have worked in many different medical practices. However, I've decided to quit my job to dedicate myself to what really interests me: travelling, living adventures, meeting new people and discovering new cultures.
PHILOSOPHY
The most effective way to define myself and my view on life would be through a quote from the book “Into the Wild”: “the joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” This is the main reason why I decided to quit my job in Italy: it didn’t give me much time and freedom to travel, but now I’m finally ready to start the adventure of a life-time, eager to fully immerse myself into every new experience this world has to offer me.

Interests
I keep myself busy with a long list of hobbies and interests with which I try to enrich my day-to-day life.
Some hobbies worth mentioning are the many sports I have been doing since I was a child: I have competed as a professional player in different disciplines, both as an individual and as part of a team, such as rugby, volleyball and athletics. I have also trained both children and adults in different sports and have been a volleyball referee. Besides that, I have done squash, kite-surfing, snowboard, football and different types of combat-sports.
I am also very passionate about reading and some of my favourite authors are Kerouac, Coelho, Hesse and Gregory David Roberts, all authors who engage with the themes of travelling and the constant search for one’s place in the world. These are themes which are very present in my life, in my overwhelming desire to discover new places and go on adventures. It does not matter whether I am travelling alone or in company; all that matters is that I am travelling.
Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite writers are Kerouac, Burroughs, Castaneda, Coelho, Gregory David Roberts for the reasons mentioned above.
COncerning music, I like listening to Nirvana, Bob marley, Oasis, Pink Floyd, The Doors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
2) Since years, I have been travelling a lot and to many places in the world, but the experience I would like to share happened in a place not too far away from my home. Sometimes you do not need to catch two flights and go on a camel ride to live an adventure. Sometimes just by stepping outside your door and taking a careful look at your surroundings, you can discover a completely different reality that you might have overlooked.
At the end of April, I decided to start the St Francis pilgrimage walk, a 200 km-long route that runs from Rome to Assisi through breath-taking landscapes. At the beginning of the journey, I could not say I had a particular reason in mind to do this walk: many people are pushed by spiritual reasons; others are hiking lovers, while I just wanted to… walk. To break away from the city craze, from the awareness of the time running out relentlessly and from the human-caused contamination. All I wanted was to take a dive into nature and walk for hours, without having any rules or limits. To lose myself to find myself. At the end of the path, I must say I found more than what I was expecting. One night, a pilgrim told me: “This path, if undertaken with real zeal and ardour, is the metaphor that best explains the meaning of life.” Only towards the end of my journey, I truly comprehended the meaning of those words.
We’re born alone, but we make endless encounters with many people during our lives: most of them walk a short distance with us, while only a few accompany us for longer stretches. We can take different paths and some are more dangerous and risky than others. We suffer during our way through it; the best among us treasure those sorrows and are able to empathize and lend a helping hand to those who are still fighting against those dark moments. Those people are aware that grief and pain are intrinsic factors of human nature and that only by helping each other out, pushed only by a pure and unbiased feeling of fraternity, we can build a better world: sometimes even the smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.
When approaching your destination, you start slowing down and observe even more attentively your surroundings. You feel wiser than when you began the journey, you are more patient, you have learnt that stopping by to admire nature in all its glory is a gift, because only a man who is not slave of time can appreciate and value the world around him. The journey is nearly at the end, but there is no time for regrets: you are thankful for having had the opportunity to live a life-changing experience, for the many different people you have met, for the life lessons you have learnt and you are glad you had the courage to take up such a challenge by leaving behind the security of your home. You are glad you have decided to finally start living.
