About Me

My name’s Giulia, I’m 19 years old, I’m from Brazil and I’ve just finished my 4th semester of food engineering on december/2018. I decided to take a gap semester to learn German because I’ve studied in a German school in Brazil from 2004 to 2013, but I haven’t actually learnt much, specially vocabulary and conversation, so I decided to really dedicate some (more) time for it haha. Because of that, I'm currently living in Hamburg, DE.
I’m a very optimistic person, it even bothers people sometimes because I like to see good in literally everything. For me, it makes life a lot easier. I’m mostly in a good mood, and I really appreciate nice people who don’t always complain about everything.
I love going out, and I‘ve been drinking less the last months because I hadn’t been happy anymore with this habit, but I’m still up to some beer or wine (on healthy amounts haha)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My mom’s always loved traveling, so I’ve been to many countries with her. I really wish to travel a lot in Europe while I’m in Germany, as long as I can save money for it.
I'm really into low budget traveling, and I think Couchsurfing is a nice way to do that. I believe it's a more realistic way to visit a place, since you stay in a real person's house, and can also make new friends. I appreciate it way more than staying in expensive hotels and visiting "over touristic" places, where you have no idea of what really happens there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Even though my love belongs to Brazilian music, I really like techno, reggae, and trap-house jazz, sometimes some pop music is good too.
I'm more into sci-fi books and movies, my favorite ones are Interstellar and Donnie Darko.
In general, I really appreciate art in all of its forms, I also love poetry but I don't know many foreigner poets. Would totally love some recommendations (:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being born hahaha
Really, that's the most improbable thing I've ever done. Have you ever imagined how many things had to go right for us to be here? If our grandparents, for example, had done ANYTHING different than they did, we wouldn't exist, considering that each combination of sperm and ovule would result in a different person.
(I'm glad this isn't a job interview)

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m vegan and I love eating and cooking, but I don’t mind staying in a non-vegan person's house. I currently have a micro business of frozen vegan meals in my city, and I really enjoy what I learn from it about food and entrepreneurship.
I love deep talks about everything: the universe, why we're here, veganism, changing the world, minimalism, zero-waste, politics, culture, .... I think I have a lot to teach and to learn, we've all have been through a lot of things and there's nothing more valuable for me than exchanging knowledge and experiences.
