About Me
Hi everyone!
My name is Grzegorz and I'm a mountains lover, film enthusiast and a computer scientist from Wrocław. I've recently graduated from theoretical computer science at Jagiellonian University (Kraków, Poland) and currently live and work in London.
I'm still learning about the world (and probably will never stop being amazed by it) so whenever I travel I want to try new things and understand the local culture and traditions.
Unfortunately I'm not able to have guests in my current place but I'm happy to meet you and show you some London (or rather explore it together as I'm still new to the city).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet as many people as possible, stay opened all life and never get stuck in one place.
No guidebook will ever replace the conversation with the locals and their thoughts. Couchsurfing gives a possibility to meet people when travelling, share experience and ideas and a trip without it seems to be missing something.
Interests
I love cinema and travelling, especially trekking and climbing. I'm also interested in science, particularly maths, machine learning and theoretical computer science (what shouldn't be a surprise considering my education ;) ).

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, films and books I'm pretty open but I have my favourites of course.
I'm a film buff and I especially love artistic cinema. Every year I attend a New Horizons Film Festival in my hometown (I've also been a volunteer there twice). I would say my taste for the cinema was heavily influenced by it so I have developed a huge love for independent and artistic films that is not afraid to break the rules and take the risk of trying unconventional methods. Some of my favourite directors might include Michelangelo Antonioni, Nuri Bilge Ceylan and Pedro Almodovar but regardless of my preferences I also try to keep up with the whole spectrum of modern cinema, from the most independent and artistic films to the american blockbusters.
It's more difficult for me to pick just few favourite books or authors. I like to read both fiction and non-fiction. For the former I'd pick Franz Kafka and Witold Gombrowicz as my favourites if I had to (I'm not an expert on their work though) and for the latter I really like works of Ryszard Kapuściński and books on Balkans and Easter Europe.
I listen to quite wide range of music. I enjoy rock, jazz, classical, folk (balkan, polish, jewish) and some electronic and hip-hop too.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can always learn you some Polish, talk about mountains, climbing, travelling and cinema (I love figuring out good, non-standard film recommendations).
As a software engineer I'm also used to being asked to fix a computer what often I don't know how to do but can always try my best :D
