About Me

A tall guy from the Netherlands, whose passport lies about his age. People tend to think I'm younger and that is how I feel and behave. Some people think I'm funny.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started travelling to meet new cultures and people and in Thailand someone introduced me to couchsurfing. I like the concept because I think it's a great way to meet interesting and new people especially when you're traveling solo as I often do.

Interests

- Vintage cars, preferably French cars from the '60s and '70s
- Food
- Beers, preferably locally brewed as the big brands taste same everywhere
- Relaxing and doing nothing. That can really be fun!
- Long conversations
- Politics: I like to disagree with people ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much of a reader. Most things I read are articles in the Internet or magazines. Books are often too heavy to drag along. If I read books it's usually biographies.

My music depends really on my mood and the time of the day. In the morning I prefer the radio and the music they serve.

Sometimes I really like soundtracks and often watched movies because of the good soundtracks. Hearing the music makes me feel like watching a movie without actually watching it, so you can do two things at a time! Some of my favourite composers are John Williams, Bear McCreary, Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith.

I like the Sci-Fi genre and especially Star Wars. If you want I can talk about it for hours!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the inauguration of the Dutch King! For most people this might not seem special but it was for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I can teach and share a lot from my experiences around the world, but also from my time as a student. I spend too many time doing other things instead of studying.

I'm trying to learn Mandarin Chinese. My phone already thought me the basics through apps, it would be fun to be able to have decent conversations in it.

It would be awesome if you could learn me some card tricks I actually remember. I hate it that every time I forget them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can sing a few Dutch songs, but it is better for your ears if I don't.
