About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Flourish.

ABOUT ME

I recently graduated from a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania - maybe you've heard of it? Juniata College? Anyone? I studied Politics with a secondary emphasis in Peace and Conflict Studies. It was quite fun, no regrets! I've been toying with the idea of going back to graduate school to study water resource conflict management ever since I studied abroad in Morocco. So, I'm sort of working on that.

I had the amazing experience to study abroad in Brno, the Czech Republic and Fez, Morocco during my junior year of college. It was perhaps the most exciting experience of my young life. I love to travel but I think I'll kick it in the States for now. I just started a more domestic adventure in Wilmington, Delaware as I do a year of service with Habitat for Humanity! There have been a lot of challenges already but I feel pretty fucking great about the work that is being done here.

I am pretty into reading and hot sauce. Amateur adventuring is fun (although I'm not going to be climbing Mt. Everest anytime soon). I'm usually up for trying anything at least once or twice including: Movie-watching, hiking, running in the local state park, and acting as a water monitor.

I have a hard time with mornings, and afternoons, and evenings. But I can sleep damn well.

PHILOSOPHY

"Please know that I am aware of the hazards, I want to do it because I want to do it," - Amelia Earhart in a letter to her husband before her last flight.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm totally down for participating in the CS community in Wilmington, they seem like an active and diverse group of people! I work a lot but I'm taking some more initiative to get out more and hang out!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed with a few people, met quite a load of fellow travelers from distant lands, and chatted with some great people.

Interests

Tennis, cats, Arcade Fire, reading, going to museums (Modern art, natural history, whatever), drinking large cups of coffee, buying spices, reading the news, jogging, trying new types of cheeses...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've gone to Costa Rica and while you are walking you way through the cloud forests and jungles sometimes you can take these zip lines from place to place. So I did that and I remember zip lining for like, a kilometer across the valley. Over the clouds and the tops of the trees. Pretty spectacular.

OH YEAH! I saw the turtles come out from the sea (again this is in Costa Rica) to lay their eggs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make campfires, read a map, and brew an excellent cup of coffee. Probably not at the same time.

How can I possibly say what knowledge I possess that would be helpful to anyone else? Here's the thing: I have no idea what I know that you don't know BUT I will gladly talk about anything and you can judge for yourself.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Morocco, Saint Lucia, Slovakia, United Kingdom, United States, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In
