About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Remaining sane in Seattle

ABOUT ME

I am a self employed nomad with a home base, contradictory no? I suppose but paradox is one of the major themes in my existence. I have been a professional glassblower for all of my adult life and plan to continue till it kills me. I travel extensively and manage to be away for around 3 months out of the year, a good portion of it working in glass studios or factories around the world. I spent a year and a half in Latin America, first living in Mexico City to learn Spanish and consequently speak it with a degree of fluency. I am currently on a mission to see as much of SE Asia as possible and visit glass factories in China.

PHILOSOPHY

I suppose that I'm an agnostic with a strong sense of social justice and responsibility. I think that things should be done on the basis of reason the search for knowledge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing. I was turned on to it by a friend, who is a couch surfing ambassador, and thought it would be cool to try out. I love meeting people from different places and find that I have a much better time traveling if I'm with someone from the place I'm at. I have 4 roomies at home so cannot offer up my couch, as much as I would like to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The closest thing to 'couch surfing' I have done is stay or hang out with friends or friends of friends in different states and countries. I've done quite a bit of it, actually.
