HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´ve always been very doubtfully about social networks like facebook, twitter or couchsurfing. So I didn´t participate in any of those, but I changed my opinion concerning couchsurfing because it is the best way to travel around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting and surfing have always been a pleasure, how else do you get in contact with locals and share their insights?

Sports: Weightlifting, climbing, skiing, everything you can do on mountains in general.

Music: Drumming (For about 6 years, mostly metal), my band:

playing the piano (Learned it nearly 6 years, but I prefer the drums), going to concerts and at least one festival a year.

And of course travelling, why else should I be here?

Good old thrasy films like braindead, the evil dead, plan 9 from outer space, bad taste or meet the feebles (Peter Jacksons early movies are great though).
I also enjoy modern thrash films which basically do the same thing like for example monster man, black sheep or dead snow (seriously: dead nazi zombies! A film can´t possibly get any better!)
But I also like all time movie classics like tarantino movies, schindlers list, L.A. confidential, the untouchables and so on.

I´m spending quite a lot of time with reading, but i prefer "classic" books, like Frankenstein, Dracula and have just finished Moby Dick. I like some german writers especially Thomas and Heinrich Mann. Heinrich Mann´s "Der Untertan" is my alltime favorite book already. Also Erich Maria Remarque has written some remarkable books.
I also like fantasy like the lord of the rings or the silmarillion which I sure have read about six or seven times, and sometimes I read a Wolfgang Hohlbein book, although his stories are always basically the same.

Music... I prefer the "hard" metal/hardcore stuff with distortions, screams and growls like machine head, august burns red, as i lay dying and of course the old veterans like metallica, slayer and judas priest.
But from time to time I also enjoy music from mozart and bach and go to organ concerts. Depends on the mood.
