About Me
Hi! I'm Gleb. Recently I left Russia, and recently I've finished my Computer Science studies in Bremen, Germany. Left probably forever, so now I'm trying to find a place, which will feel like home:) But there couldn't be a home without people, so this platform I find just perfect: meeting wonderful people, and seeing amazing places. In my free time, I enjoy learning languages: Swedish and German at this moment. Initially, I thought that if I was looking for a new home, I would like to have a veritable experience of living in a city, including speaking on the same language as the local people. But I ended up loving learning them, being able to read in different languages, discovering new cultures, music, podcasts, movies, all that! Being enthusiastic about passionate about linguistics.
Recently, I got a job in München, so I'm planning on spending a year or longer in this city! I' very exited about that. This is also nice, when you have some confidence in tomorrow.
I like reading poetry and trying to read in languages which I learn. I listen to different kinds of music: alt-rock, metal, pop-rock, jazz classics, and several classical composers (the cello is my favourite instrument to listen to!)
Sometimes I do some sport, and I like just walking! Choose a random direction in the city and walk far away, then trying to figure out how the hell can I go back:)
I love coffee! I like making V60 for myself and my friends. I like making other people smile in general, if that requires making a cup of coffee, baking a banana break, or telling a joke - so be it!
I love nature! Reducing my emissions, eating plant-based food, etc. Walking in woods, mountains, hiking is also great:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting people and making friends. I don't have many of them because it was always difficult for me to step out of my comfort zone and talk to someone else. But here, far away from where I was born and raised, I must relearn how to connect with people. Generally, I love people, they are usually very friendly, and each time, I end up having a great time with them:)
Aside from people, seeing new places is also existing! I love taking trains and going somewhere. Then trying to talk to people in the city in their language, visit some city suburbs or sights...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Speedrunned German in 2 months before arriving in Germany from zero to A2!!!
- Organized a small Computer Science online school for schoolchildren in my hometown
- Left my country! Genuinely fantastic to be free and to be able to travel without issuing any visas.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sometimes I teach Computer Science to school children. I also volunteered in the refugee kindergarten. I think it counts as "teach"! Or what does it mean...
I learn languages and different views of people and am open to learning everything
What I Can Share with Hosts
- I think I am a nice person. I don't smile much, and I like to listen to people.
- I love cooking and can help with that!
- I can try to play your favourite song on the guitar! No promises that it will work out well, but I'll try as hard as I can
- I can help survive in harsh conditions of nature
